Residents and staff of Lakeway Estates in Bellingham commemorated a major milestone this month with a lively celebration and donation to Meals on Wheels and More.

OREM, UTAH, September 25, 2024 – Havenpark Communities, an owner and operator of manufactured home communities in Washington and across the country, celebrated the 55th anniversary of its Lakeway Estates community in Bellingham, Washington this month.

Lakeway Estates staff hosted a party for residents on Saturday, September 14, with a live jazz band, taco truck, raffle prizes, and a special time capsule ceremony to memorialize the community’s storied history. To commemorate the 55-year milestone, Havenpark made a generous donation to the local chapter of Meals on Wheels, which provides nutritious meals to senior citizens in Whatcom and San Juan Counties.

“Creating caring communities is the core of our mission and we were thrilled to celebrate the close-knit community of long-term and recent residents that’s been going strong for 55 years,” said Havenpark CEO Robbie Pratt. “Lakeway Estates is a thriving community in beautiful Bellingham where neighbors look out for one another. It was in that spirit that we made a donation on behalf of the community to the local Meals on Wheels to support seniors in need throughout the county.”

The anniversary celebration at Lakeway Estates included a raffle, a taco truck, and a performance by the Bellingham Dixieland All Stars. Residents also filled a time capsule with memorabilia from the community, treasures from the past, and an invitation from the 55th anniversary celebration. The time capsule will be opened at a future celebration for Lakeway Estates 65th anniversary in 10 years.

Lakeway Estates residents Gina and Rick, who attended the celebration, said they chose Lakeway Estates to be their home because it is quiet and well-maintained. They also appreciate the improvements and upgrades being done across the property, as well as new community manager Hanna Boyer who works hard to make this community feel like home.
